Services

CST is a three-step process with many options that can be customized to fit your specific needs. These steps include:

  • Step 1 - Planning
  • Step 2 - Training
  • Step 3 - Incident Support

Step 1 - Planning:

Our CST experts will assist your company in designing and developing a plan of action should the unthinkable occur.
  • Module 1 (PM1): This module includes an initial presentation and an exploration of your corporate crisis management requirements. This will allow our experts to assist your staff in developing your corporate safety and security plan.

  • Module 2 (PM2): This module will present a practical crisis management exercise to test the CST plan developed through PM1. Staff will be tested using real world examples. This training is mandatory for companies retaining iFathom for crisis incidents.

Step 2 - Training:

CST prevents incidents by empowering employees and management through relevant, timely education.
  • Module 1 (TM1): Hostage and hijack survival, including personal security/abduction prevention – designed for employees visiting ‘at risk’ destinations.

  • Module 2 (TM2): Preparing and living in ‘at risk’ destinations – designed for employees moving to a foreign country, with/without their families. It is recommended that this presentation be attended by all family members accompanying the employee to the ‘at risk’ destination.

  • Module 3 (TM3): ): Practical academic role plays for hostage survival – Individual. TM1 is a prerequisite.

  • Module 4 (TM4): Practical academic role plays for hostage survival – Group activities. This module is particularly important for companies that send groups of employees to ‘at risk’ destinations. TM1 is a prerequisite.

Step 3 - Crisis Incident Support:

CST helps manage and mitigate incidents. Our crisis management team will provide support both in Canada – to the organization and the isolated person’s family – and abroad – to organizational affiliates working in-country.
  • CST helps resolve the incident. Our team will assist in the safe recovery of the ‘well trained’ isolated person, and help transition them back into their family and their organization.

  • Crisis Response Option 1 (CRO1): Our staff will provide a company crisis management team offering on-site support and advice.

  • Crisis Response Option 2 (CRO2): CST can deploy to facilitate the return of company employees. This will include support during reintegration – an event which can be more traumatic than the original isolating event.

  • This can include:

    • Advice on how to interface with foreign and domestic governments,

    • Dealing with demands for ransom, and

    • Psychological support with the return and reintegration of the hostage.

  • Crisis Response Option 3 (CRO3): Our staff will provide family support and counselling, including preparing for the return of the isolated employee.
